2002 Greek Euro!

What a nice idea: a coin within a coin within a coin. There are two layers of metal in this coin, thus the coin within a coin. The third "within a coin" comes from the reverse. The owl and sprig design was used on this coin from ancient Greece. Of course it didn't say 1 Euro on it, but you get the picture. Too bad it isn't that nice ancient silver Greek coin and is only worth face value or $1.30.

2007 French 2 Euro Cent!

Here I am back on schedule. This is one of those coins I got in the return slot of a coin machine. I always check the return slots for coins people have left behind and what do you know it paid off. I got this around 2 years ago which somewhat explains its lack of damage and tarnish. It's still amazing that this traveled across an ocean in someone's pocket and most likely ended up in circulation for a short time before I found it. The only thing that I had to go on at the time was the RF on the reverse. Thanks to the internet it wasn't hard to figure out. It is worth $0.05. the picture below shows the edges of a few of my 2 Euro Cent coins.

2008-F German 1 Euro Cent!

Got this in my change while I was in Gemany so I suppose it's a change find. I only say I suppose because  it is considered normal or common in Germany so I'm not sure what to label it. Anyway like I said it's common and only worth $0.05. There is one thing that that kind of surprised me about Euros: most dont state in plain (insert European language here) what country they're from. You have to know just by looking at the design. France and Germany are two examples although France at least puts RF on their coins. Greece would also be an example to people not familiar with Greek writing.

Greek 2 Euro!

I got this in 2007 when my aunt went to Greece. It is a 2002-S Greek 2 Euro coin. It is worth $2.75 and it has some verdigris/rust damage.
