What an odd denomination. Well, maybe not considering it was used by the United States back in the day. It sort of confused me at first. I couldn't decide if it was $100 (2x50), $250, or $2.50. Naturally I searched for $2.50 first and it was a direct hit, so to speak. It's dime sized and made of copper nickel because by 1976 Portugal was deep in the hole. Since Portugal switched to the Euro, this coin has very little value although it does have a nice design. Unfortunately the design doesn't help much and it's worth around $0.10.
